Welcome to Nursery!

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all in September and starting an exciting year of learning together.

Please name all items of clothing including coats and shoes. It can be very tricky for the children and adults to identify items without a name! You may also wish to provide a spare set of underwear/clothes for you child in the even of an accident or spillages etc These can be kept on your child's peg.

If you child is still wearing nappies/toilet training please provide nappies and wipes, spare underwear and clothes etc for your child to be kept in school.

Many thanks.

Water Bottles

Please ensure that children bring a clean water bottle to nursery each day which is clearly marked with their name. We have a cold water tower in class for the children to refill their water bottle throughout the day.

PE

PE in EYFS this term will be on Wednesday. Nursery children will sometimes join the Reception children during these sessions in the hall or outside.

Please ensure children arrive in nursery wearing suitable clothing and footwear in order for them to join the PE session safely and comfortably.

Forest School

Forest School in EYFS will be with our wonderful Forest School leader, Mrs Brookes on a Tuesday (please see newsletter for start date).

Forest School takes place in all weathers and all seasons. Children and adults must be dressed appropriately as 'there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!'

We encourage exploration and investigation and the children will need clothes that will enable them to do this.  As a parent said, 'You can wash away the mud, but you can't wash away the experience.'

Forest School Clothing (Winter example):

  • Jogging bottoms/leggings
  • Vest
  • Long sleeved top
  • Sweatshirt/fleece
  • Warm socks
  • Wellies
  • Water proof trousers
  • Water proof jacket
  • Gloves
  • Hat

Remember to bring a carrier bag for wellington boots and waterproofs - these items will get wet and muddy! Additional footwear is also required e.g. school shoes/trainers for when in the classroom/hall etc

Water Bottles

Please ensure that you bring a clean water bottle to school each day which is clearly marked with your name.  We have cold water towers around school for you to refill your water bottle throughout the day.
