About this topic

This topic is designed to help the children reflect on the role of Mary. The children will develop their understanding of Advent as a time of preparation for the birth of Jesus and are encouraged to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

About this topic

The children will work scientifically by: observing rocks, including those used in buildings. They will be exploring how and why they might have changed over time; We will also identify and classify rocks according to whether they have grains or crystals, and whether they have fossils in them. Pupils might research and discuss the different kinds of living things whose fossils are found in sedimentary rock and explore how fossils are formed. Pupils will also explore different soils and identify similarities and differences between them.
