Sports Premium
Through the ‘Sport Premium’ the Government provides funding for the delivery of PE and sport in primary schools.
This funding is ring fenced, and is allocated directly to primary schools across England, providing them with dedicated resource to buy in invaluable expertise and support. Funding is allocated through a lump sum for each school and a per-pupil top-up mechanism. The formula references the number of primary-aged pupils (i.e. children between the ages of 5 and 11). All schools with seventeen or more primary-aged pupils receive a lump sum of £16,000 plus a premium of £10 per pupil.
At St. Patrick's we are using our funding to enhance PE and Sport via investment in new, high quality resources, being part of the Telford Sports Partnership and through CrossBar coaches who delivers high quality sessions and also work alongside our class teachers to support and enhance their PE lessons.
We will ensure that the improvements made by using Sports Premium are monitored to ensure their sustainability.
