Year 2

Welcome to Year 2
Teachers - Mrs Everson (M-W) and Mrs Griffiths (W-F)

Teaching assistants- Miss Holding

Welcome to Year 2 - we can't wait to see you all and be back together!

It has been lovely getting to know some of you as you have returned to school. We look forward to finding out all about you all in September.

We both love working together and enjoy planning fun lessons for our class. We both have two children and enjoy getting outdoors with our families. We both have special talents - Mrs Everson plays trombone and Mrs Griffiths is a gymnast!

Miss Holding will be moving up with you to Year 2. She is very excited to be working with you all again. Miss Holding is very creative and is a very talented make up artist!

Our first topic in the Autumn term is ‘The African Savannah’, where we will  be learning all about Kenya. We will be comparing life in the UK to life in an African country. We will look at animals and their habitats in Science. We will be producing some traditional African art. In English, we will be reading a stories from other cultures and creating our own.

In maths, we will begin the year looking at number and place value: reading, writing, rounding and ordering two digit numbers. We will then progress onto learning an efficient way to add and subtract numbers using number lines.
