What our Parents think

RE inspection Letter - December 2022

These are some of the comments taken from our March 2024 survey:

Great school, with well behaved and polite children, hardworking and caring staff who set high standards and uphold expectations. Could not ask for anything more!

It was lovely to meet my child's teacher and see what work they have been completing whilst at school. Great feedback and direction for my child's learning for the remainder of the school year.

The school is excellent. Teachers and all the staff members are always welcoming and very supportive. I have recommended some parents and they do not have regrets.

My daughter’s mental health has greatly improved this academic year due to her amazing teacher!

All members of staff are extremely kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.I have raised a concerns about my child’s behaviour and possibly needing SENCO assistance. The matter was noted and will be actioned. As a parent I felt heard.

We will definitely miss the academic and non academic staff as everyone were so lovely and professional towards us.

We take this opportunity to thank everyone to give our children an opportunity to start their school life such a lovely school and teachers.

It’s hard to say goodbye but circumstances made us to take decisions and move further.

We wish everyone very all best and May the Lord Jesus Christ bless us all.

With best regards and Prayers

Thursday 21st December

I just wanted to take the time to say how amazing Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary were this half term! The children were really engaged with the activities each week and gave everything a go. The teachers were also really supportive, and I hope they were able to see how simple delivering cricket can be with the Chance to Shine lesson plans.

Sunday 17th December - New Youth Choir at the Cathedral

Just wanted to let you know that the 8 children that attended the carol concert really did a fantastic job! Their singing was angelic! And their behaviour was superb! It was a joy to watch them!

Dear / Shrewsbury Cathedral Team

I just want to say thank you for being a supportive , helpful and kind with me and my daughter. I am happy for my daughter to be part of this family as you follow the word of God.

The staff act as a family, I am so blessed to take a part of this amazing school as a lunch time supervisor and a volunteer, you encouraged me to start my new career in UK, genuinely I am so thankful for that.

We are so sad to leave this amazing school, you are the best!

I can't say thank you enough for all you have done for my son. What a fantastic few years of education you have provided. I wish every school setting was like you - all the staff are so lovely and supportive, nothing is too much trouble.

We will miss you all so much, you have made such an impact on us. Thank you for giving me a happy, positive, achieving 11year old.

18.7.22

I just wanted to express our heartfelt thanks to you and all who have supported my son this year.

I'm incredibly proud of all he has accomplished this year.

This year has been incredibly difficult for us as a family, but this has been made a little easier knowing he has been fully supported.

We know it hasn't been easy some days, but everyone's perseverance has been very much appreciated.

We have seen how he has grown in his learning and form some nice friendships and really show his personality, it is so nice to see him finally smile.

We wish you all a well-deserved rest over the summer and we look forward to seeing you all in September.

1.7.22

Just got home from my last day of work experience and I just thought I'd email in to say a big thank you to you and the school. The staff and the students have been nothing but welcoming and loving since the start of the week and I have loved and enjoyed every second of it, ten times more than I thought I would. I have learnt so much and this week has definitely fueled my interest in teaching. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for having me.

18.12.20

I just wanted to express how sad it is that we are leaving Shrewsbury. My children have thrived at your school and you have treated us like family. What a fantastic school you have!

16.12.20

I just wanted to send a quick email to say a big thank you to everyone at Shrewsbury Cathedral Primary for making me feel so welcome in what has been a crazy term for us all.

The children have really loved their Rocksteady lessons, and I have loved seeing them progress musically on their instruments and simply enjoy a bit of normality. Thank you for all your support in making this happen and for helping me get more children involved.

14.10.20

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU for putting everything in place to protect everyone. I would not have expected anything different from the school. It is appreciated. We hope that everyone stays well.

Thank you for the welcome pack, it was a lovely pack with all the information needed and a wonderfully positive attitude. The nature aspect is a real positive for me personally as I am trying to introduce my family to a more sustainable lifestyle. I can honestly say I have never read a more encouraging welcome pack and all the staff photos are lovely and full of smiles. Many thanks again

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your fantastic team of teachers that have helped my son settle in.

Mr Higgins has been truly fantastic, from the first visit, my son was made to feel like he belonged and nothing was too much trouble. You have got the balance perfect in The Dell, it's a special place that he loved.

I would never have thought that he would be in the position he is now, attending school full time and more importantly, really enjoying himself and happy...with friends!!

Your staff are amazing, so good at what they do, they are a real credit to the school.

I would just like to mention the amazing Mrs Hunt, who has become a firm favourite in our house. She is so patient and kind. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to guide him.

He has already said how sad he is going to be in the holidays when he won't be in school.

Thank you for all the hard work that you do, I can't thank you enough.

Kind Regards

Farewell from a much loved Governor:

18.12.19

I have been a governor for around 7 years and, during that time, I have seen the school go through much change and periods of ups and downs. I am leaving at the time when I am most confident that the school is in a good place with high quality, solid and committed leadership and a teaching and support staff who are equally as committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our children and their families. I will miss the people greatly and recognise that they are an inspirational and dedicated team who have worked incredibly hard to put the school in the good place where it stands today.

Can I take this opportunity to thank you personally for all you have done and ask you to pass on my sincere thanks to all of the staff at Cathedral Primary for all they have done, and continue to do, for our school, families, children and community.

I hope everyone has a very warm and wonderful Christmas and are able to have so well-earned rest and relaxation over the next couple of weeks.

I just want to say thank you to Mrs Herbert and Mr Hawes for putting my daughter into the maths competition at Wrekin College the other week.  She really enjoyed it, and was absolutely delighted that she  did so well.

Miss Young might also be pleased to know that two children you taught last year were half of the winning team from Belvidere at a Maths competition between 7 schools at Concord College today, beating teams that included the High School and Shrewsbury School.

It is lovely to have children who enjoy maths!

We are very proud of our school and the high expectation we have regarding behaviour and learning. During the academic year we offer parents and carers the opportunity to comment on the school through questionnaires, parents' evenings, reports and after school events to name a few. Below are a selection of comments that our parents and carers have made about the school. Also if you would like to tell Ofsted what you think about our school please visit www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk.

25.5.18

Hey just wanted to say a huge thank you to yourself the teachers and the children for my card! A very thoughtful thing to do!

Please apologise to the teachers I didn’t get a chance to say thank you and goodbye personally because I had to rush off to pick up a young person I support. Personally thank you to yourself for listening to my vision and giving it a chance in your school.

A huge thanks to the school as a whole for embracing the mentoring Scheme! The real reason it has worked so well is that all staff have seen the value from an early stage and felt comfortable to share information with me, which has been valuable going into sessions to understand the Children’s wellbeing

The children have all been a huge credit, always respectful, polite and a pleasure to work with!

Many thanks, Andy Smith - Embrace

22.5.15

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the staff that supported the year 6 throughout this year and during the SATs. My son actually really enjoyed the week and the breakfast was a big hit. Many thanks, year 6 parent
